SPATE-HPC simulator

The SPATE-HPC simulator, which has been developed in the Suswood project during the years 2007-2009, is available for download as open source software. The simulator is implemented in C++. It can be used on any normal single-processor workstation running on one processor, but it can also be used on massively parallel High-Performance Computer systems with thousands of processors.

The following libraries are needed to install the SPATE-HPC simulator:

• The AMD Core Math Library (ACML), or some compatible implementation of the BLAS routines. ACML is available from http://developer.amd.com
• Xerces-C++ for handling XML files. This is available from http://xerces.apache.org/xerces-c/
• The Scalable Parallel Pseudo Random Number Generators Library (SPRNG), available from http://sprng.cs.fsu.edu
• The GNU Scientific Library (GSL), available from http://www.gnu.org/software/gsl
  
  
• If the simulator is to be run on a parallel system, the Message Passing Interface (MPI) library is also needed. MPICH is available from http://www.mcs.anl.gov/research/projects/mpi
• If you intend to develop the code, the CppUnit library may also be needed for unit tests. CppUnit is available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/cppunit/
