Conference participation and visits:

• Artur Signell participated in the Cray Users Group annual technical conference in Helsinki, 5-8. May 2008 with the paper "An Individual Tree Simulator for Assessment of Forest Management Methods"
  
• Julian Lin participated in the conference Complex Stand Structures and Associated
  Dynamics: measurement indices and modeling approaches, July 29 - August 2,
  2007, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and also visited  University of Brittish Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
  
• Markku Tykkyläinen presented the Suswood project in the Association of American Geographers'  Annual Meeting, San Francisco, April 17-21, 2007.
